Chestha Bhagat: This is for the first time that I’m part of an investigative drama like Control Room… it’s unique for my career and added a lot to it

Chestha Bhagat will be seen as Varsha Marathe in Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik’s production, Control Room. Happy to be a part of the show, the actor shares that she finds the title exciting, thrilling and adventurous.

“Control Room is an interesting investigative drama and this is the first time that I am a part of such a show. I feel it’s unique for my career and has added a lot to it,” she says.

A lot of research has gone into making this show. Talking about her prep and character, Chestha adds, “I saw lots of female cop-oriented films. I look forward to wearing my uniform as it’s a magical and powerful feeling. Varsha is an exciting character. I always wanted to play a role in uniform, this show gave me that opportunity. There’s going to be a lot of drama involved in the lives of the cops in the upcoming episodes. Viewers have to watch it to know more.”

Chestha also shares that Khaki vardi has a different appeal for the audience. “It’s human psychology that when you see someone in uniform, you feel respect, protection and no fear. Once you wear the vardi, you feel a sense of power and courage and you want to fulfil your responsibilities. We all understand its significance in our lives,” she says.

About working with Beyond dreams and Yash Patnaik, she adds, “They are very humble human beings and understanding producers. They look after their entire team very well. It feels nice to work for and with them.”
