Deepesh Bhan: Comedy is not an easy task… within a few minutes, you should be loud yet subtle, need to perform a punch and give various expressions

Deepesh Bhan is probably one of the talented and popular comedians on the tube. The actor, who has the audience in splits as Malkhani in Sanjay Kohli and Binaiferr Kohli’s Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!, has been a name to reckon with when it comes to clean comedy.

“It’s a very good saying that comedy is a serious business. Comedy is not an easy task. I remember watching an interview of Anil Kapoor sir and Akshay Khanna where they said that being a normal actor is easy, but a comedian must have the right timing. Within a fraction of a second, you need to perform a punch, and give various expressions. You should be loud yet subtle and all these happen within a few minutes,” says the actor, who has also done shows such as F.I. R and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

While there are many who are inspired by his aptitude, Deepesh looks up to Amitabh Bachchan. To him, Bachchan Senior is an institution.

“He is in an acting school by himself. There are so many things that you can learn from him. I have seen one of his interviews where he said I have been working in this industry for decades, but I am still learning new things from newcomers. There is nothing bigger than this spirit of learning. He is so inspiring. I am a deewana of Amitabh Bachchan and I salute his dedication and hard work,” adds the die heart fan.

He follows AB senior both as an actor and human being. He shares that he follows his idol’s approach in his career as well.

“I always want to be a student because I only want to keep learning. As an actor, there are many things that I am yet to learn and I want to know them all with the blessing of God. I want to live my life as an actor till my last breath. I want to polish my acting skills every day,” he signs off.
