Global warming has become a significant problem, among other things. Talking on the occasion, celebs share what one should do to make Mother Earth become a better place. They also share their personal contributions towards the cause. Here’s what they said:

Sudha Chandran
As we all know, global warming has become a significant problem. It’s very important that we do everything to protect our mother earth. Let’s plant more trees, it’s very important to have greenery around us. I love taking walks in the gardens and when I go and stand in front of trees in my leisure time, I feel they are talking to me and are reciprocating. I see that life in plants. It’s very important to connect with nature otherwise it will be a very serious threat. In our garden and rooms we should have some potted plants and we should not be spitting and littering anywhere. People don’t even bother when they do such a thing and don’t understand the repercussions. Most important is having conservation. We should conserve water. Many people have the habit of leaving the taps open. We must stop wasting water first and then educate the youngsters about the same.
Ayush Anand
It’s very important to love Mother Earth and the environment before protecting or saving it and equally important to be compassionate towards birds and animals. We should also not spit or throw garbage on the road, close the water tap when not in use, switch off electrical appliances when not in use, take a walk or bicycle as much as possible instead of using our private cars, keep plants at our places, plant more trees and feed dogs and birds whenever possible. We need to do it not only for ourselves but also for the upcoming generations because the environment is the only thing we are going to leave behind for them.

I am a believer of karma. I believe what you do for Mother Earth comes back to you. What you sow so shall you reap. As a responsible citizen I try to do whatever little I can do to protect Mother Earth. Firstly, I believe in sustainability, so I avoid plastic as much as I can. Carrying my own brass bottle on set, using steel plates, and spoons instead of disposable ones, I make sure to be cautious about many such things. I also have a lot of plants at my house. I have plants all over my house in every room, especially plants that purify the air and some pet-friendly plants for my dog. Besides, I also make sure that I do not litter. I store whatever wrappers, and papers I have in my car and come home and throw them in the bin. Every drop of water matters. Similarly, each of our little deeds will make for a better earth. Let’s heal the world and make it a better place for you, me, and everyone out there.

I feel environmentally friendly cars will soon cease to be an option, they will become a necessity. I also wish to have one soon. Earth Day should encourage us to reflect on what we are doing to make our planet a more sustainable and liveable place.Amal Sehrawat
I feel sad when I see waste. When I see people throwing away things we could use. To leave the world better than you found it, sometimes you have to pick up other people’s trash. I do that whenever I see trash around us. I also have separate bins for dry and wet waste at my home.

We should start investing in making the future climate secure. I read somewhere that when the well’s dry, we know the worth of water. So, we should act before things get out of hand. Turn off the water while you’re brushing your teeth and it isn’t required or switch off the lights and fans as no one is in the room. Every time you are doing all these small things, you are doing something good.

Earth Day is important in everyone’s life because global warming has become such a significant problem for all of us. I would say that planting more trees can actually resolve this problem to some extent. One should keep potted plants in their homes, should not spit anywhere, must separate dry and wet wastes, turn off the taps if not in use, and conserve electricity. You have to curtail many things and that’s how you will support Mother Earth. Earth is our home so we should protect it, not only on this day but every day. If you want to live a civilized life then you must follow all the rules and regulations. Try to do all these things so that we can save the situation from getting worse.
