Kunal Pant: Actors Cricket Bash means authentic cricket and having fun with your industry friends and colleagues

Kunal Pant is excited to be a part of Tam Mumbai Aces in the third season of Actors Cricket Bash (ACB). Founded by Dilip Agrawal, this fun sporting event is being held between March 19 and March 22 in Air India Ground, Mumbai. It is in T10 format.
“It feels great to be in the grounds again. Not just authentic cricket, ACB is also a great event to meet all your co-actors and friends at one place and play together. The competitive spirit is another binding force. Irrespective of the gender when you play a sport the competitive streak is always high , and cricket being a team sport it has to be a combined effort of all the players where only the best team effort will help you win the trophy,” he adds.
Cricket is considered a religion in India. “Everyone plays, follows and has an opinion about cricket, which includes even those who don’t play the sport. It’s funny but that’s how intense people of India feel about cricket,” he says.
Kunal has been prepping for the four-day-long tournament. “Practice, practice and more practice even when I don’t get a chance to go for the nets sessions, in my head I am thinking how to play what shot either by my imagination or watch videos. ACB has turned the month of March different as we are now thinking less about the character we are shooting and more about the game. I am looking forward to the tournament… super four days of cricket, fun, competition and meeting friends and co-stars,” adds the actor, who is a fan of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He admires the cricketer’s calmness and fearlessness.
Praising Dilip for holding such an event so elan, he says, “Dilip Agarwal or D, as we all call him, has put all his efforts in spite of all obstructions of the pandemic to make this work. He has managed to get 80 working actors on board to play this tournament. This is season 3 and I am sure this time it will be much bigger and better because where there is a D there is a D for Dhamaka. So get ready for some amazing games and lots of entertainment.”
Meanwhile, Kunal also talks about his favourites in the coming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. “I am more excited about Actors Cricket Bash than the IPL because here we play rather than watch. But, yes I will watch IPL and I am a strong supporter of Chennai Super Kings because it’s Dhoni’s team. The other reason being they are good and have been consistent,” he adds.
