Let’s remember him for the classic movies he has given us: Sneh Binny on Rajesh Khanna’s 80th birthday

From “Aradhana”, “Bandhan”, “Ittefaq”, “Kati Patang”, to “Anand”, “Haathi Mere Saathi”, “Choti Bahu”, “Aan Milo Sajna”, and “The Train”, late Rajesh Khanna gave some outstanding and memorable performances, and entrepreneur Sneh Binny feels that he should be remembered for that.

Speaking on the late superstar’s 80th birthday, he said, “Between 1969 and 1971 he gave 15 hits, that’s a big number, and considering that the audience had a particular taste at that time, it’s a huge number. I have always felt that Rajesh Khanna ji was truly blessed when it came to portraying emotions on-screen and even now there is no one like him.”

Sneh feels that everyone has ups and downs in their life, especially for someone in the entertainment industry it’s quite common.

He said, “The biggest difference between then and now is social media. So now while there is one section of people who criticise an actor, there is also one section that fights for them. And this was not there at that time. People only got to know about an actor or their life through newspapers and TV news, and even if there was someone to defend them their voices couldn’t be heard. I guess the same thing happened with Rajesh Khanna ji.”

“People saw his rise, and then his downfall, but during the fall even if someone was there to support him, their voices went unheard,” he further said, adding, “Also, I feel why is there a need to talk about what happened in his life, the tragedy etc. He has made so many good movies, why can’t we just talk about them.”

So which movie of Rajesh Khanna is your favourite? “I liked ‘Sachaa Jhutha’ and have watched it a couple of times,” Sneh ended.
