Anupamaa actress Madalsa Sharma likes to get all the attention. Her character Kavya is the center of attention in the show. “Who doesn’t like to be the center of attention? Being an actor, I would always like to take the centre stage. It is morale boosting and complimentary,” she said.
Currently, in the show Kavya is made to feel ignored and unwanted. Asked if her character is much stronger than all this, she said, “It is very obvious. If Kavya is one against the rest, it is a show of her character’s mettle, grit, and determination. Kavya has her own point of view. Hers is a fight of a ‘girl of today’ against a regressive family.”
Such sequences take a toll on her. “Acting is living a character, a situation, and an emotion, so it affects our psyche, maybe temporarily, but sometimes it lasts longer,” she said.
According to her, you have to prepare yourself before playing a negative role. “Trolling is obvious, but luckily Kavya is an exception; it is not a negative role of a conventional vamp. Kavya is an educated and an intelligent girl trapped in a regressive family because of her love for Vanraj. My increasing fan base and their comments are a testimony to my statement,” she said.
She feels the show has given her due as an actor. “I’m so grateful for this to our producer Rajan Shahi Sir who chose me as Kavya and the talented writers of the show who saved me from portraying darkness. Kavya is grey and so are we,” she said. She expects the show to go up and higher every week and take Kavya along.
