Mreenal Deshraj: During the lockdown, I found great solace in Yoga

Actress Mreenal Deshraj says that Yoga helped her change her life, especially during the pandemic. While she has always learnt about Yoga since her childhood, she only began to really practice it during the lockdown.

“I think most of us learned the very basics of Yoga in school. We have grown up with it being ingrained in us. But being a rebellious child, I did not fully grasp the benefits of Yoga till just recently,” she says.

She adds, “During the first Lockdown I saw the world around me change and I found great solace in Yoga. I embraced Yoga at this time because I realised its true value is not just building a healthy body but also as a way to deal with the turmoils of life during Covid.”

The actress says that she really benefited from Yoga. “Yoga helped me cope with the sudden isolation the Lockdown brought on us and then reading the news about deaths all over the world – in all that negativity I found solace in Yoga. My favourite Asana is Surya Namaskar and these days I incorporate Yoga into my training regimen to build a strong core,” she says.
