Nivedita Basu on escalating to newer heights and doing much bigger things in 2023

Producer Nivedita Basu says that a lot is being planned in the New Year workwise. She says that competition has never affected her and personal growth is where is focusses her energy on.

“I think in 2023, I want to achieve much more than being part of Atrangii or just a content head. I don’t know where I am headed, like I’ve got cricket in my head, something with sports or maybe with a reality space. And reaching and escalating to newer heights and doing much bigger things,” she says, adding, “I think the only way to take the competition healthily is to not get affected by it and see the pluses of how and what the competition has achieved and striking out the minuses. If you start to let that affect you, it becomes a big cross. I think, in my mind, I know what my achievements have been and I thrive to achieve more. Keeping your targets high helps you achieve more.”

Personal and professional life balance is definitely not an easy goal to achieve and maintain. However, she says that she does what seems best to her. “I think I am no one, between my friends and family, to balance my professional life well. It’s not a great thing to say but I think I sleep less so that I can spend time with my kids and family and friends. So, I manage to balance everything out. By the end of the week or month you should be at peace with both and finish your work. That way I keep my benchmark,” she says.

Ask her how she unwinds after a busy day at work, and she says, “I manage to meet a lot of my friends at the end of the day. Maybe a get together or a birthday party or just going and hanging out at a place. We are very close. And being in the media and having an experience of 22 years, you happen to know so many people so there’s something every day. It’s a good part to unwind and to be with everyone. Apart from that, I like to go home and watch my content and by the time I reach home my kids are sleeping.”

She adds, “I think it’s not easy to multitask and I feel proud that I am able to do it. But when I see other people faltering, I always tell them it’s okay, if you can’t multitask you can have days you are heavy at work and not devoting personal life and vice-versa. I think everything is fine, you just need to know how you can personally manage your things. And don’t let others way if work affects you and continue doing your part and stay happy.”
