Producer Prateek Sharma: Studio LSD is known for choosing progressive, larger-than-life presentation of stories… and none of the shows are similar

Prateek Sharma’s latest show Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan has been received well by the audience. The producer is happy and feels nostalgic about all the love being showered on the show. He recalls how he entered the industry to make good stories and where he has reached today.
Looking back, Prateek was born and raised in Indore. “Both my schooling and college are done in Indore. My college was EMRC Indore from where I did my BSC in electronic media and filmmaking… After completing my education, I started working with a channel and slowly realized I liked this field of work, all the major action that happens behind the camera, and decided to start my own company. The idea was more of an emotional and creative decision initially,” he says.
His Studio LSD has produced shows such as Beyhadh (as creative producer), Ek Deewana Tha, Manmohini, Laal Ishq, Sufiyana Pyaar Mera, Bahu Begum, Teri Meri Ek Jindri and Beyhadh 2. They have also produced two TV shows for the regional market in Maharashtra, Ghetla Vasa Taka Nako and the latest one is Satyavan Savitri (it goes on air June 12 onward),  a youth-based reality show, Ex or Next (will stream soon) and Dancing Queen.
“The full form of Studio LSD is Laxmi, Saraswati and Durga. I came up with this name because to form a production company, you need all three— money, knowledge, and strength. I am a believer in the divine. And, must say the journey so far has been good. From this industry, I have learned persistence, hard-working, and staying innovative and relevant. The experience here also taught me to keep on reinventing myself, which has become the mantra of my life,” he adds.
Having produced so many successful shows, one wonders what is that one common thing among them, something that is the USP of Studio LSD? “That would be the larger-than-life presentation of the stories that we choose. All the stories till date that we have done are very progressive in nature and none of the shows are similar,” says Prateek, who was the writer and showrunner of Jaana Na Dil Se Door.
Sharing his vision for Studio LSD in times to come, he adds, “Right now we are working on a couple of concepts for television. Along with that we are trying to make our digital debut with interesting themes. We are doing a reality show that will soon go on air and along with that, there are a couple of other interesting projects that are being worked out. We hope to present our viewers with different and entertaining content in 2022-23,” he signs off.
