Producer Nivedita Basu plans to move into her house, and also reunite with her daughter after months

It’s Diwali on October 24 and everyone around is excited. From shopping, visiting family and friends to eating out, people have made a list of things they would be doing to celebrate the festival. Celebs too are no different. Producer Nivedita Basu talks about her Diwali plans of moving into her house, which was under renovation after an accident that happened a few months back??.

“My baby has been staying away in Delhi at my mom’s house. She is having fun but I am not. The excitement is that she is coming and we will be moving back to our newly remade house,” she says.

After two years of COVID and restrictions, this year is special without it to a certain extent. So, the celebrations are only going to get doubled.

“I will be in Mumbai only. We celebrated Diwali when we were in Delhi. Times have changed, not sure how our kids will remember the festival. For me Diwali is catching up with friends, we play cards and there are some friends with whom I meet only on Diwali,” she says.

About the rituals they follow during this time, she adds, “We do Pooja at our house and at our in-laws house as well, wear new clothes and have good food. That completes the celebrations. This time it won’t be different. I have my friends who do my outfits. It’s either Sujata or Soniya or Binita Goyal . These are the three brands I wear on a day-to-day basis. Thanks to Sugandha, who styles me, I always go for hardcore Indian outfits.”

Diets go for a toss during Diwali. “My diet has always gone for a toss considering that I am travelling and it’s always like next time I control my eating habit. Diwali is so festive and you can’t refuse the sweets, right?” Nivedita ends with a smile.
