Sandeep Anand’s short film Identity crosses three million views: The social message it tries to draw home is the reason behind this success

Sandeep Anand is celebrating the success of his short film Identity that has crossed three million views on YouTube. Directed by Shivankar Arora and written by Shipra Arora, the project is produced by them for their channel Content Ka Keeda.

“I think the social message that the film tries to draw home is the reason behind this response. That people have been able to connect with the concept and narrative mean a lot to us,” he says.

The actor feels short films are a good tool to give out social messages. “Nowadays the time we have to spend on leisure is very less. People decide in the very first few minutes, maximum five, if they want to watch the content further or not. You can place a social message there and if it is well made people will watch it and share it too. And, short films are that tool with which you can do it well,” he explains.

Sandeep plays the role of a strict father/husband, in Identity. The character has negative shades to it. Sharing his experience of working with the Aroras, he adds, “I have immense respect for both of them. They are excellent at what they do and they are very clear about their vision. Both are also very kind humans.”

Meanwhile, the actor has just finished shooting for a feature film. But, he can’t reveal much about it at the moment.

“I enjoy dark comedies and would love to do them once. I will be fortunate if I get to do the one soon. Also, let me also add that as an actor, I am open to all sorts of characters. Every new role or project excites me. I enjoy versatility, so let’s see how it helps me in the long run,” he says.

Open to doing more short films, which are in trend these days, Sandeep adds, “Among other things it’s a very good medium for new filmmakers as well as actors to showcase their talent. They also don’t take much of your time and if made well can hold the viewers’ attention as well as touch a chord with them.”
