Sharan Anandani: For me, Rajan Shahi sir is a legend in the TV industry, his storytelling, and how he explores intricacies of various relationships is wonderful

Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has recently taken a leap for the third time. This means a new character, new story while keeping the essence alive. Actor Sharan Anandani, who plays the role of Vansh, feels lucky to be a part of this journey and blessed to have got the opportunity to work in the trilogy.
“I’m playing grown up Vansh in the show. He is mostly jovial and is the closest to his brother Kairav (Mayank Arora). There is more to Vansh than what meets the eye. What attracted me to the character is that what Vansh goes through in life has similarity to mine and therefore it’s relatable. Like him, I too have had a life with a lot of downs than ups. So when I read the script for the first time I had tears in my eyes,” he says.
Showering praises on the production and the Director’s Kut Production team, he adds, “It’s not only a dream come true working with a hardworking and passionate team. Everyone here is a good human being and quite helpful. I’m at peace since I follow the same work ethics. For me Rajan Shahi sir is a legend in the TV industry. His storytelling is beautiful and wonderfully explores family values and relationships amid a lot of twists and turns that keeps audiences glued and entertained. I love watching the show myself.”
He also points out that now content and newness are the most important things. “Thankfully gone are the days when people used to watch just about anything in the hope of being entertained. Thanks to OTTs, the Film and TV industries have also started focusing on content more than anything else and that has raised the bar,” he says before replying to how love triangles work, hinting at the ongoing track in the show.
“Love triangles indeed make the drama pretty interesting, and anyone watching would want to know who lands up being with whom at the end,” he adds.
Sharan also praises the title of the show. “There comes a time in everyone’s life when we question the relationship with our family, friends and partner, and there are also many relationships with a question mark, as they can’t be categorised. The show touches up all these new and old relationships we develop over the years,” he says.
