We actors are dreamers and that’s what keeps us going : Chaitannya Choudhry

Actor Chaitannya Choudhry will be next seen in Tanuja Chandra’s Hush Hush. He shares his viewpoint on the differences between an actor and a star, ”Entertainment industry has progressed a lot. There is true value for talent now. We have witnessed that talented actors have become stars. On the other hand, established actors have also realised that they need to focus on their skills and good content.” But with more opportunities, hasn’t competition also gone up?

He says, “Like any industry, opportunities and competition exist in ours too. It just gets highlighted a lot in ours. And like in any profession we as actors have to grab the right opportunities to strengthen our career. Needless to say, it has to be backed by our talent.”
But are there times when there is a clash between your aspirations and reality because that happens many times with the actors. “Yes, that happens a lot in our profession where there is a mismatch between aspirations and reality. But we actors are dreamers and that’s what keeps us going, we always keep on trying our best to match our aspirations and reality. But I also feel it’s very important to be practical at times in this journey towards our aspirations. I also feel as actors good opportunities coming from anywhere are most welcome and there is nothing wrong in that.”
Chaitannya also shares how one should deal with the frustration of waiting for the right role. He adds, “Firstly we should never give up. Instead of feeling frustrated, we need to continue to work hard on our craft and keep on trying to get more opportunities. And if there is nothing to fall back on, it’s alright to have a backup plan. Like I said, it’s important to be practical.”
