Aakash Dabhade: Stories on red light areas attract because of the erotic content; Ratri Ke Yatri 2 will change that

Actor Aakash Dabhade, who is part of the web series Ratri Ke Yatri 2, says that this story is sure to change the way people view such shows. The actor adds that he loved being part of the project.

“It was the story which hooked me. It’s a really thought-provoking story. I truly believe that one should not judge anybody by their appearances. As a person, I have always believed in treating everyone with respect and dignity be it the president or a janitor,” he says.

He adds, “These stories attract attention but the problem is it mostly attracts attention because of the erotic content. I am sure Ratri Ke Yatri will change this and focus on the soul of the story which is so beautiful; Look inwards not outwards.”

Talking about the experience of working with director Anil V Kumar, he says, “It was absolute fun working with Anil sir. He is a nice, hardworking man and treats his team and actors
really well. There is no unnecessary shouting on his sets and everything rolls out at a very fast pace as he has done TV for years. In fact, I told him, ‘Sir, next koi aisi gazab story kab kar rahe hai hum shoot? Aapke saath maza aaya kaam karke,’ and he said, ‘Bahot Jald’.”

Meanwhile, the actor adds that the story has taught him also a lot and people will relate to it. “The content is real that is why it is bold. Real is always bold, it takes guts to be real. I feel we as humans we should not judge anybody because of their profession. The character of Monalisa, who is a prostitute, teaches me a life lesson that it’s all about how beautiful your inner self is rather than your outer appearance,” he says, adding, “

I would like to say that the story is relatable. I am sure people are going to relate Monalisa and my story with their lives. The issues that we have picked up are very relatable.”

Ask him if getting into his character was tough, and he says, “To be honest, I didn’t take too much time. I was already prepared with the tone of my character as I had played them earlier in films like Article 15,Babloo Bachelor, Penalty. So the hard work I put in those films paid off here. I was more worried for the intimate scene as I have never shot for one in my 12 years of acting career. In fact, I jokingly told Monalisa, ‘Monalisa, I am a newcomer in intimate scenes please help me out,’ and she was super sweet and made me comfortable. It went off smoothly.”
