Dharminder Sandhu on Channa Mereya: It’s been a dream to work with Yash Patnaik sir and Mamta Patnaik ma’am, finally I’ve got an opportunity

Dharminder Sandhu as Pasha in Channa Mereya has been getting a good response from the audience. Happy to be a part of the Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik show, the actor says that he liked the concept from day one. Dharminder also praises the title of the show which draws from a hit song. He feels the moment one hears it, they know that this is a romantic tale.

“My character Pasha is a clever soul. He is always scheming, trying to harm others and find out what is good for him. As an actor, I love my character. Pasha has many shades to him and that’s what I like about him,” he says.

Channa Mereya has a big ensemble star cast. The show also marks the return of Karan Wahi on the small screen after six years. It has a unique storyline. And, Dharminder adds that the audience enjoys and wants uniqueness in stories, characters, and every set-up, and the show has everything.

“Every single individual in Channa Mereya’s star cast is very helpful and has a humble nature. I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to work with them. I also feel very lucky to collaborate with Yash sir and Mamta ma’am. It’s been my dream to work with them since watching their show Veera. Finally got this opportunity,” he smiles.

About the changes he has found in the entertainment industry over the years, Dharminder says, “People are now ready to experiment. Also, every set is a different experience. I have seen changes in technology and how social networking helps in popularising a show and its cast.” Daily soaps will always have an audience, no matter what. Agreeing, the actor adds, “New twists and suspense make them popular, and help to run for a long period of time. There are many people who still enjoy watching TV shows.”
