Himansh Kohli: Used to visit Nirula’s with my school friends and cousins almost every other day

Deepak Nirula, founder of the popular ice cream and fast food chain Nirula’s passed away recently. Actor Himansh Kohli, who has been born and brought up in Delhi, says that he has so many memories of the restaurant.

“I used to visit the restaurant with my school friends and cousins almost every other day and have been in love with Hot Chocolate Fudge Sundae, Banana Split, and Pineapple Ice Cream Soda all my life. I hope that Lt. Mr. Deepak Nirula’s legacy lives on through his food and keeps on bringing happiness to millions who love this iconic brand,” he says.

He adds, “I had a big sweet-tooth during childhood and was a fan of Nirula’s—an Indian brand that was here in response to McDonald’s and other QSRs of the world. When it first opened, it seemed like an International brand had set foot in Delhi. But it was even more comforting to come across the fact that it is an Indian brand and the quality is far superior.”
