Young filmmaker Prasad Kadam recently directed FNP Media’s short films titled “Chuha Billi” and “Happy Birthday”. Though both the films were a thriller, the stories were very different. While the former was about mental health, the latter was a different take on the concept of life and death. Asked if directing a thriller is different from other genres, he said, “Theoretically the process of direction shouldn’t change with the genre. But treatment may alter. For example, a director would want the mood on the set very light and happy when he is doing a comedy, while the same director would want some seriousness while shooting some intense scene.”
“Chuha Billi” which featured Anupriya Goenka and Adah Sharma garnered good response from the audience, while Anupam Kher and Aahna Kumra-starrer “Happy Birthday” won the Best Actor and Best Short Film award at the New York City International Film Festival (NYCIFF) 2021.
