Ridhiema Tiwari talks about her favourite season

Divya Drishti actress Ridhiema Tiwari says she enjoys the winter season the most.

“I enjoy the winter season the most. In Mumbai, it’s the smallest patch of this season where we live free from sweat. I love my cosy wintery nights in a fluffy warm blanket and look forward to cosy late mornings over the weekend. I am not a fan of masala chai but it’s an exceptional favourite of mine during the winter season,” she said.

She likes the freshness in the air and thinks it’s the perfect time for a vacation in the mountains.

“A variety of fresh vegetables and fruits makes my meals more interesting besides the street food that I crave for the most during this season. Just a cosy blanket, a good book to read, and a mug of coffee are so relaxing and calming. Winter is the most festive season and I look forward to dressing up. The long stored light sweaters, jackets and boots come out of my suitcase to see the daylight, keeping my winter style in check. Long drives, dinner plans get more active at the peak of the winter season, but I do miss camping and bonfires in the city,” she said.

According to her, in the past few years, Mumbaikars have enjoyed a small patch of the chilly season. “Actually, the winter vibe plays on our minds more and we are automated to have all the wintery fun despite the fact that Mumbai never gets too cold. Whether it gets too cold or not, with Christmas festivities and New Year celebrations, there’s a complete shift in the mood. Everybody wants to party and have fun,” she said.

She loves mountains and one of her most favourite destinations is Sonamarg in Jammu and Kashmir. “The snow-laden fields, surrounded by majestic glaciers and serene lakes leave me spellbound. That truly is God’s land. Second is Dharamshala and Mcleodganj which has a strong Tibetan influence. I love the monasteries, the hills and I have had the best time trekking there,” she said.

Gajar Ka Halwa tops her list of “must-eat” when it comes to winter cravings. “I also look forward to enjoying Sarso Ka Saag with Bajra Ki Roti, Makki roti and Gud with chatni, marinated garlics and horseradish pickle,” she said.

People tend to say that those in the entertainment industry hardly get any long holidays. She disagrees. “In fact, we are fortunate to be freelancers. The ones who truly desire a break prioritise getaways and family vacays. We are fortunate to have a string of options close to Mumbai for a short trip either solo or with family. I make up for family time on priority making sure that my furry babies too get a vacay along with me and my husband.”

Her favourite getaway is Goa for a perfect beach holiday. “I like Panchgani too for the majestic table land, magnificent hills and valleys,” she said.
