Lovepantii actor Sunidee Chauhan on her struggling days: Many tried sabotaging my journey, break me, also said that I will never get lead

Sunidee Chauhan’s dream of playing the leading part in a project finally came true with Lovepantii after much struggle. She plays the role of Ranjana in the OTT show. Enjoying every bit of this new journey, the actor shares that her experience so far is amazing.

“I auditioned a lot, especially for lead roles, but never cracked any. It wasn’t like I didn’t have work, I was doing shows but was not satisfied with the quality, in short I was not getting the kind of work I wanted to do. One day finally, I got a call for Lovepantii and was told that they are replacing their lead for some medical reasons and would like to audition me for the role. I gave the audition; the creative person liked it and called me for a mock shoot with the fellow male lead male to see the onscreen chemistry between us as this show is about love. They liked it, the channel liked it and I got the role,” she says.

Every actor wants to play lead roles. Agreeing, she adds, “I was on cloud nine. It was one of the best feelings of my life. I thanked God for finally giving me my break. I was dancing and shouting at the top of my voice. That night was the biggest night for me waiting for the final confirmation, and, as soon as I got it I woke my parents up that night itself and gave them the good news.”

In Lovepantii, Sunidee plays Ranjana, a strong minded, straightforward, confident, girl-next-door, who loves her family and friends. “She is passionate about her dreams, believes in equality between all genders and is not homophobic. She believes that a guy & a girl can be good friends too, not necessary to be a couple, which is the show’s concept. I am much like Ranjana in real life. The show streams on MX player & Azaad channel Mon-Sat @8pm. The show can be watched on Azaad official YouTube channel.

Competition is rampant in the TV industry. If one does not take up a role someone else is ready to take it. Talking about how she managed to stay afloat, Sunidee says, “There are a lot of good actors coming up every day with the same passion as yours, so you have to buck up if you want to survive here. Sometimes good actors miss opportunities due to favouritism. In every aspect there is a lot of struggle for an actor to achieve their goals. Patience is the key to success here I suppose and for upcoming actors who wants to pursue this career I would say support from parents/family is necessary to survive here in the industry or else find a way to be financially stable before you start because you never know how long you will have to wait for your dreams to come true.”

Sharing her struggles to get your first break, she adds, “There were so many people I met who tried to sabotage my journey, to break me in the process, gave negative vibes saying that I will never achieve my goals but I never gave up. I believed in myself and kept going forward. My passion for my dreams and my parents’ support kept me going. With only one hope that one day I will get the return of my hard work, I just need to focus on my efforts now.”
