Yash Patnaik is happy that his debut OTT project Tu Zakhm Hai is already a hit: It has been Top 5 most-watched web series in India across platforms back-to-back two weeks

Yash Patnaik’s debut OTT venture Tu Zakhm Hai on MX player has opened to a good response. The producer expresses happiness and shares that this has motivated him to explore the medium more and make more interesting content.

“We are happy with the response of Tu Zakhm Hai. It has been in the Top 5 most-watched web series in India across platforms back-to-back two weeks since its premiere. The numbers are looking very good and it has a strong word of mouth,” says the producer, who has popular TV shows such as Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera’, ‘Sadda Haq’, ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi’, ‘Ishq Mein Marjawan to his credit.

People are talking about the brilliant cast of the show. “I am glad people have liked not only the lead actors but the entire ensemble cast. Apart from Gashmeer Mahajani and Donal Bisht, we have some very fine actors in Tu Zakhm Hai. There is a mix of veteran actors like Parineeta Seth, Anuj Sachdeva, Sachin Verma, Amit Behl, and Aparna Kumar and some exciting new talents like former Miss Diva Universe 2018 Nehal Chudasama, and social media sensation Jinal Joshi has made her acting debut with the show,” Yash shares.

The title of the show is quite interesting and has a deeper meaning. “Tu Zakhm Hai is a toxic love story. Zakhm is a very interesting and multi-dimensional title. Then we thought of using certain words to make it a little edgy and romantic as romance is the heart of the show. The title song Tu Zakhm Hai, Ya Marham Hai just sums up what we wanted to say,” he adds.

According to industry experts, the OTT boom is a reality and here to stay. Reacting to it, Yash opines, “I don’t know about the OTT Boom, but the content boom is definitely here to stay. Good content will find its audience and vice versa. There is a huge audience ready to consume compelling and relatable content. You put the content anywhere, and it will find its way.”
