Harshali Zine: Youth is over-exposed to manipulated information, they should learn to meditate, grow their own food and purify water

National Youth Day, which falls on 12th January, Baap of Special Services actress Harshali Zine observed how youngsters are over-exposed to fake information on social media.

“Youth is over-exposed to fake and manipulated information. They must learn to be centered, only then they could differentiate between fake and real and could choose what kind of content to follow on social media,” she said.

According to her, it’s not too much information, but the lack of real information that is misleading the youth. “What they know at their core and what they’re watching, reading, listening, experiencing are poles apart. Hence, the confusion as to who to follow, our inner voice or our surrounding,” she shared.

She feels that the youth is the future of the planet and “if they’re misled the way it’s happening now, the hope is 50-50.  She says, “the youth of today is trapped inside their homes, with faces covered with masks and breathing carbon dioxide constantly exposed to fear.”

For her, change has to come from within. “What they (youngsters) want to change in the world, they should bring that change in themselves. A true leader leads by example. Politics is a dirty game based on divide and rule which is causing a lot of hatred. Youth must focus on unity and love,” she said.

For the past 2 years, they are compelled to be home-bound and dependent on technology for almost everything. According to her, this has exposed them to harmful radiations emitting from the devices 24/7 that have “dulled their minds and causing anxiety.”

She suggests them to learn to meditate, grow their own food and purify water.
