Himanshu Soni: Audiences are praising my work, they’re happy to see me doing something other than historical and mythological on TV

What makes an actor happiest? Yes, love from fans. Himanshu Soni is presently on cloud nine because viewers and his fans have been showering appreciation and support on his sow Aggar Tum Na Hote (ATNH). He plays the character of Abhimanyu in this Jatin Sethi, Mahesh Pandey and Piyush Gupta production.“The response has been quite good… Many are saying that they are happy to see me doing something other than historical and mythological. They must have never thought that I could play Abhimanyu’s character. People are also praising my work and it is a different kind of feeling. I think I have been able to break my set image,” he says. The best part about Abhimanyu’s character is that he is unpredictable, according to Himanshu. “Abhimanyu is charming, humble and down-to-earth, and jolly… There are a lot of variations in this character. I am able to explore my craft. Whoever sees me doing this character doesn’t believe that I have played Buddha, Ram, Krishna, Siddharth, Gautam in my earlier shows,” he adds. ATNH is a different show with a unique storyline. Agreeing, Himanshu says, “It’s a story about Abhimanyu who has multiple disorders, he is emotional and he forgets everything. I found the character complicated, challenging and that’s why I said yes to this show. I didn’t want to do a saas-bahu kind of show, I wanted to do a show where there are variations. Mahesh Bhai, who is our producer and writer, told me about the character, so I really wanted to do it. A lot of times, I think about how I will perform this scene and all. But yes whatever I am doing, I am doing it wholeheartedly. I am enjoying doing this show and very thankful to all the three producers and the channel.”  Before talking more about his camaraderie with the producers, Himanshu also shares that the vibe on the set is positive, the reason why everyone is happy and that shows on screen.  “All the three producers are really great in their own ways. Everyone is giving their hundred percent and it becomes our duty that we give them our two hundred percent as well. I always perform believing that this is my first and last scene. They are very humble and supportive,” he ends.
