Vaishnavi Dhanraj who was last seen as Ria in Colors Madhubala — Ek Ishq Ek Junoon before the show took an 18-year generation leap, has bagged perhaps the most challenging role ever.
The actress will play Nirbhaya in a special series titled Satyagrah, which will air on Aaj Tak. The series will highlight the happenings of the “Delhi Gang Rape” which left the entire nation in shock and Vaishnavi will recreate the trauma which a 23-year-old student went through as she was beaten up and gang-raped by six men on December 16, 2012, in a private bus in Delhi.
The series will showcase her plight, her fight to survive, and how she succumbed to her injuries 13 days later while undergoing emergency treatment in Singapore.
According to sources, the character will be shown as a ghost, interacting with Mahatma Gandhi, and sharing her trauma. Interesting isn’t it.
